Even though I'm still not convinced about the validity of the reasons for our invasion of Iraq, there are still brave men and women doing their duty and making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. These people are the warriors, unlike those rats behind the wainscotting who sneak like thieves in the night to rob us of our security and our lives.
A more personalized version of the actions of CPT Brian Chontosh is at a site called, "This Will Make You Proud." I don't care for music with these sites because of the emotional effect of music (and of the inclusion of digitally manipulated photos such as that of the Humvee). The information should stand on its own, and I think this one, and Steve Blow's article (linked above), does. (hat tip for Mr. Blow's article to Ral on the AFN email list)
You put a couple of good pieces together, Val. I'm not thrilled about Iraq either, but I sure am heartened by Steve Blow's article.
Just this past week the Post-Dispatch had a front-page article about a female Army Sgt. (I don't think she was a Sgt. Major, but it was a high enlisted rank) who said we "have to be patient" with how things are going in Iraq. She echoed what Steve reported in his article that things are moving in a positive direction in Iraq and she believes we helped the country by getting rid of Saddam. Reports like that, from people who were there, are very important.
